CAREER HIGHLIGHTS

Bob Foster, (born December 15, 1938, Albuquerque, New Mexico), is considered to be one of the best Light Heavyweight boxers in history.  Inside the ring he was known for his powerful left jab and his devastating knock-out power that ended the careers of several boxers.

  • Inducted into the inaugural class of the International Hall of Fame, 1990.

  • Career Record:  56-8-1; 46 Knockouts

  • 14  - 0 in title defense fights.

  • Defeated Dick Tiger to win the Light Heavyweight world championship on May 24, 1968.

  • “Fighter of the Year” for 1968.

  • Fought Smokin’ Joe Frazier for the Heavyweight championship of the world on November 18, 1970.

  • Fought Muhammad Ali for NABF Heavyweight title on November 21, 1972.

  • Won two Light Heavyweight fights on the same night on November 11, 1964.
